A strong Lutheran work ethic, combined with a powerful sense of probity, dominates the society.


That sounds rather elitist. From what I saw there was little emphasis on religion and more on socializing. The work ethic follows the sense that their success is a comunity sucess and not an individual one, which after all is the basis of socialism.
