>>====Uh MOST Canadians do not support Americas illegal war efforts. But you know this.<<
Deemed illegal under whose jurisdiction? Is it "illegal" to consume alcohol in Canada? It is certainly "illegal" to consume alcohol in Iran. Alcohol was illegal in Canada and the USA at one time but is certainly not illegal today. What is "illegal" one day may be legal the next. It is your opinion and your opinion only that it illegal.
"The Canadian Security Intelligence Service, counterpart of the CIA, said terrorist representatives are actively raising money, procuring weapons, "manipulating immigrant communities" and facilitating travel to and from the United States and other countries."
""manipulating immigrant communities" means persuading their voting preferences and thoughts. You said "MOST Canadians do not support Americas illegal war". Germany and France were two of the most vocal NON-supporting nations among the coalition of the “unwilling,” that did not support or participate in the war in Iraq yet a poll one year after the invasion shows that that 67% of the French think Iraqi's will be better off with Saddam gone 67% of Germans think Iraqi's will be better off (27% in both countries saying they won't) yet neither country helped in the effort and actively resisted. Not supporting America in Iraq does not mean they are right, it only means they do not appreciate freedom from tyranny and whata blessing it is living under democracy.
"MOST" Canadians have not experienced war yet over 100,000 Canadians have given their lives in war and "ALL" Canadians have benefited from these men giving their lives in war. What you are saying really is that "MOST" Canadians have become ungrateful and un-willing to support the men who died and their past accomplishments, the men who will die and have fought for our freedom and that a world with out war is not reality it is wishful thinking.
>>We don't need protection...<<
That whole long statement that I snipped off is too naive to comment on so I once again I point to the facts that contradict it. The very government that you infer listened to "MOST Canadians" and did not go to Iraq has the "Communications Security Establishment, which listens in on conversations and translates messages from foreigners under suspicion, has increased its annual budget by 57 percent since Sept. 11, and Canada has spent some $6.5 billion to beef up security along its border."
Beefed up security and spending billions upon billions against what? You claim we don't need protection yet our Canadian government apparently disagrees and is spending more than ever. BTW the lack of spending on the Canadian military will in all likelihood bring down the present government.
"A Senate committee recommended on Nov. 12, 2002 that Canada should call all its soldiers home for two years and immediately give $4 billion to the military in order to start the process of bringing the military up to what is expected of a world leader."
>>====They are certainly not dying in my name or in the name of most Canadians. Canada has spoken. It does not support Americas war of aggression in the mid-east. So let the yanks feel insulted LOL<<
Canada has not spoken. YOU have spoken. There was no vote taken on going to Iraq. It was not a democratic process. It was a polling propaganda process. You are dead wrong.
They are not the only ones dieng in Iraq. Polish and British are dieing as well. I am glad you are on record for not supporting the removal of Saddam. 67% of the French and 67% of the Germans disagree with you and they didn't go there either.
>>====Funny how I have not heard one single country of these 49 so called coalition members criticize Canada. Even Japan has over 70% of its people against its participation in the war on Iraq.<<
You claim that "The vast majority of these countries were pressured by Washington". How much money do these countries receive in trade goods and relationships with Canada? It can very easily said that "The vast majority of these countires were pressured by Ottawa." NOT to criticize Canada. It's a two way street when it comes to influence peddling.
I am not going to pursue this argument. You posted a personal comment attacking the US by saying you would stop Cheney at the border. You would stop our good neighbor Cheney at the border, disband our military, leave Saddam in power and generally leave "MOST" Canadians utterly defenseless against a growing and looming threat.
It's not your fault. You have been lulled into a false sense of security and fallen into the enemies hands. It just may be true that "We have seen the enemy and it is us". Complacency kills.
TORONTO -- Though many view Canada as an unassuming neutral nation that has skirted terrorist attacks, it has suffered its share of aggression, and intelligence officials believe at least 50 terror groups now have some presence here.
They are from Sri Lanka, Kurdistan and points between and include supporters of some of the best-known Mideast groups, including al-Qaida, authorities say.
Osama bin Laden named Canada one of five so-called Christian nations that should be targeted for acts of terror. The others, reaffirmed last year by his al-Qaida network, were the United States, Britain, Spain and Australia. |
