The problem with Passive Immune Therapy (infusing the IGG from a previously infected person) is that its not terribly effective • • •

The most effective immune response is Th-1 the cellular response. This is the system which is primed by vaccinations or activated by interferon-alpha.

The Th-2 antibody system is responsible for post infection clean-up, and can help trigger a re-activation of the Th-1 system if the pathogen re-emerges.
