You can't mention deflation without mentioning the biggest factor behind the credit bubble - the real estate bubble. Real estate falling apart (which appears to be happening here and now) will be THE driver for deflation. You can see it in prior examples of RE bubbles elsewhere, and even Greenspan's own recent publication. No doubt about it, DEflation is the real enemy. Those who are distracted with inflation are ignoring the debt cycles, and Kondratieff's (rock-solid I believe) theories. K-Spring can't come with record debt loads any more than Spring can come in December. BC
