They can't let this referendum fail. It would be a huge set-back... even I hope they have this thing fixed because I think we will get the hell out sooner if it passes.

If it fails, then there is no Iraqi government... the US is essentially back in charge.

I've got to believe its going to pass. The Shiites/Kurd majority can not be denied. But if the 'no' vote reflects the Sunnis' share of the population, then the country is still in trouble.......constitution or no constitution. A piece of paper doesn't automatically resolve the crisis.

Frankly, though, I don't care how the vote goes. Like you, I just want American troops brought back home.
