In my opinion, "irreplaceable".

I understand. I have stuff like that, too. And I've lost some of it in one way or another. A snow globe that I had as a child went missing several decades ago and I still think about it.

But I'm wondering how that applies in this case. When we buy stuff and it gets lost or destroyed by the grandkids or wears out, we have to go out and buy another or, if we can't get another, mourn our loss. It's not clear to me on what basis DVDs should be any different. What is the rationale?

P.S. I have a habit of buying a spare for things I'm especially fond of--a particular lipstick color or pair of jogging shoes. That's one reason why there's so much stuff in my attic. <g>
