Cut the use of the word "tree-hugger". It's dishonest and evil.

I'm a strong environmentalist but also a realist. If nuclear power is the lesser of several evils, then we have to use more of it, at least temporarily, but only in order to replace gasoline, oil and coal so as to lessen pollution, keep our wildlands and coasts clean of rigs and eliminate dependence on the Arabs. That clearly has to be the goal. Nuclear energy is also dangerous, especially when it comes to disposal issues.

The biggest source of energy is the sun. We should harness that as much as possible. Carter had a great solar program going which Reagan scrapped when he was elected. It was a national disgrace to scrap that solar program. Anti-environmentalism has to stop in this country. All that pro-pollution propaganda is paid for by the polluters themselves. And it's all dishonest.
