I disagree with your analysis, kholt. I think by talking to others, just plain Americans, you would disagree with it as well. The "professional Christians" don't have much if anything to do with this. (Who are you referring to, anyhow? Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Robertson, Falwell etc???)
The folks I talk to are becoming concerned that after a while, chip by chip, little bits at a time, the original American culture is being eroded. Monuments, Bible references, Holidays, etc. Most don't like what they are seeing and feeling. Resentments pile up. Eventually, feelings bubble to the surface, and overflow. Let's hope the overflow isn't like a volcano popping it's top.
What you and Newdow think is a little thing, really isn't. It's the little things that add up to something very large. |
