If humans can contract a virus, they can contract it from another infected human. A virus may lack the characteristics needed which would make it highly infectious or highly transmissible. That is an entirely different subject. But there has never been a virus capable of infecting humans which cannot be transmitted by humans to humans. I can see that you find this upsetting, and it should be. Plague is unpredictable -- and yet periodic and unstoppable. Life is difficult and uncertain. Some may try to offer you false assurance and the promise of an easy path, but there in lies even worse danger. .
