Indeed that's why I bought antiviral drugs. I think the chance of a H5N1 pandemic is greater than 5%.

That's not much of a risk, only one in twenty, but the next pandemic is long over-due. So if I don't need it for H5N1, there's also a chance I might need it for Hxxx later.

It's also become clear to me that Bush and our current Federal government are both incompetent and incapable of responding in a rational manner.

That means I need to look after myself …………… but it also increases my personal risk.

Because my health depends in large part upon the health of the people and animals who share my world.

Edgar Allan Poe's "Masque of the Red Death" resonates many historical accounts of people who have shut themselves away from others during plagues, only to die from the plague in spite of their special precautions. For better or worse, Public Health is best addressed in a community manner.
