As has been discussed here often, ACLU is not a cohesive "they" so much as they are several regional chapters of differing perspectives and goals. Some good, some not so much. Much like the Boy Scouts. My experience from that boyhood group had similarly differing perspectives. The first troop I joined did a lot of camping and civic volunteerism. Few years later, I moved from one side of town to the other, joined another BSA troop, they wanted to smoke dope, play basketball (though the troop did shoot some guns on occasion), and smoke more dope, joined by some of the scoutmasters. Disillusioned, my BSA participation declined rapidly. Guess you gotta pick your chapters, whether ACLU or Boy Scouts, eh?

" ... but your list does nothing to balance the growing perception that they [ACLU] are anti-Christian. Their recent attacks on the Boy Scouts have really endeared them to people."
