Yes, I learned something about that. Chinese language has become quite fashionable these days, largely due to its fast growing economy.

To learn to speak some basic Chinese is not very difficult. But to learn to read and write Chinese characters can be difficult. I believe only less than 5% of those learners will end up able to read and write Chinese. Most of them will learn to speak some basic words.
