Agreed, the release you posted does have a rather cheery tone to it, but it's almost too cheery, it would seem. I notice the author did proper diligence by including the ARRL objections due to radio frequency interference, whether real or imagined, but he said little in the way of throughput speeds achieved, and where the technology is headed in a world where times ten increases in speed take place every couple of years.

"The National Association for Amateur Radio said that Current had done a better job than other B.P.L. providers in avoiding frequencies that ham radio users occupy."

Of course he meant the American Radio Relay League, or ARRL. I'd never come across a statement like that one before. I'll check out the context in which it was stated.
