I'm baffled at the Chinese and other Oriental obsession with mystical properties of bear organs. It's so bad they are involved in the blackmarket sale of gall bladders in this country, which greatly increases poaching.

I'm not fond of bear meat, but from my point of view bear salami and roasts are legitimate uses of bears legally killed. Also, bear rugs make a great addition to a home or lodge. To make such an item respectable and honorable, it must be the take of a lawful and sportsmanlike hunt.

The only other useful part of a bear that I know of is their penis bone. A fellow I knew in college carried one around in his hat band and used it for a toothpick.

Actually, when you come down to it, that bone must be pretty darn useful for the bear too. I bet they don't have to take Viagra.
