In my home town, a few weeks ago - a reproduction of da Vinci's The Last Supper which had been hanging on the wall of the junior high school for about 50 years was taken down because of a threatened lawsuit by "Americans United for Separation of Church and State" - a group closely associated with the ACLU.

It is not just "professional Christians" who are offended by this. There is a pretty clear attempt to push any mention of God or traditional western religion out of the public sphere. One day its a classic work of art that has to be banished. Another day its the phrase "under God" in the pledge. Another day its the Boy Scouts getting kicked off military basese and out of schools (for acknowleging God and for not allowing homo scout leaders). Another day it will be "In God we Trust" on our currency. Then it will be chaplains. There is no end in sight.
