In terms of investing the best thing is a strategy that makes money even if you are wrong. I was talking to a colleague last night and he was saying he had thought the USD would fall and so at the beginning of the year bought ADRs/ETFs in lots of foreign stock markets. He hadn't realised at this point that the USD has been rising all year (if you don't look at the chart it is hard to remember). But of course he did very well, but for the wrong reasons...

About the best we can do is being aware of all the possibilities and attaching to them very vague probabilities and so not being surprised.... I don't know what the world will be like in 10 or 20 years. But I do know some scenarios.
