The core of the argument I was pursuing with Bill has completely sailed over your head. Judging by his most recent post me its curiously sailed over Bill's head too.

Bill said he banned Kenneth because he referenced the military's most recent misadventure in Iraq and paraphrased a new post heading rather than the headline of the article linked. He described Kenneth's post as un-American and banned him for that.

My argument is that the tradition of free speech is very much an American tradition. Yes even criticism of the military.

Jeese. Do you think Saddam allowed criticism of the military? How about communist China? yada yada. My argument is what Bill did was more un-American than what Kenneth did. My argument wasn't whether he could or not - he can as moderator. It’s just that he is a moderator more in the tradition of a communist country that a moderator in the tradition of the USA.

If anything should be watched closely its the military and what they do. Turning the military loose is unleashing hell. Innocents get killed and maimed - it's not glorious stuff. Then you have things like Abu-Gahrib. Under censorship these things would grow and grow rather than be stopped short.
