New book on CIA says the Iraq occupation was a huge strategic mistake which played right into the hands of the Arab extremists making Osama look like a prophet. "Denial and Deception" is the title of the book written by a veteran CIA analyst of Middle East affairs. She blames Clinton for being too risk-averse, leaves out the fact Bush was AWOL on terrorism until after 9-11, then praises him for Afghanistan, but then states Iraq was a huge-huge blunder.

Bottomline, this author says that we need a combination of toughness and CLinton style compassion toward the rest of the world. Only that combination will work. One without the other fails. John Kerry is a man who would have had that perfect combination.
