kaka, RE: Didn't the combined HP/CPQ have one of them things right after the merger, only to have that thing un-inflect itself?? I don't think so. My recollection is that right after the merger HP regained the market share lead only because the market shares of the two firms were combined. That is very different. Mind you, I'm not ready to declare one data point as indicative of a long term change. Could be, yeah, but I think we need a bit more than one point.
