after you have done this pack up, button up, get out routine in florida several times in the next couple of years -- then the hurricane goes somewhere else -- you will likely tire of the uncertainty of florida as i did. it was an unnecessary time sink and worry factor that i did not have time for. unless one just must be near ocean to make life worthwhile, i could not see the benefits.

i am not knocking you for being there. i am just relating my experience of living there for several years.
