Kind of sad to say but if a special election were held tomorrow and Al Gore and George Bush were the two candidates Gore would win handily. I'm no fan of Gore, but Bush would have brought such a result on himself. What would GWB get....47%...maybe. The indepedents have abandoned him thoroughly by now and a chunk of his former base of conservatives would just stay home, as they have realized he is no conservative.
