yes I know there are ways around it but I don't think it is worth the trouble just to adhere to Brin/Page's philosophy of "no splits". And it isn't the executives who are the issue, it is the engineers. The people who get 5-10K shares in another company get maybe 400 shares at GOOG. Its just a psycological downer and not worth it just for an obscure principal.

Anyway this is jmo, and I'm not anticipating a split now, and it looks like another recession is coming anyway from the tone of the indicators today so GOOG might fall anyway!

I'm looking for a good quarter from GOOG but maybe not a blowout. All I can say though, is the sentiment towards GOOG earnings this time reminds me of what we had in February, lots of negativity and GOOG blew out. So you never know really.
