I see India with large population not throwing up the excuses CCP are throwing up. However I also agree with CCP that western "way" not ideal either. I think you have hit nail on the head - "accountability" - we have far too little with these large governments - east or west - graft is rampant in both - and only places where there is accountability are things good for the common man. I see it like this - CCP point fingers at failures in west - west point finger at failures in east - just like rich republican and rich democrat attack each other back and forth for the benefit of "theater" while at the end of the day they all together on the golf course having a great time. I often imagine Hu and George laughing it up over what thier "little" people will revolt next ala camp sheehan or chinese village riots.

If we can free china from the abuses and let the workers there enjoy the freedoms of the west - then the global competition and FAIR trade will have use to the citizens of the world. I want things to get better in China - Al Gore has said we need a media that INFORMS the people so they can better represent thier own interests - the MEDIA we have in both east and west are falling short of this important need I fear.

Would you say the media in switzerland is less CONTROLLED than what AL GORE claims the USA has or HU has done with Chinese media?
