FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 20, 2005--Headline of release should read: GlobeTel Communications to be Featured on Discovery's Science Channel; Segment Highlights Sanswire Networks' Stratellite Airship (sted GlobelTel Communications to be Featured on Discovery's Science Channel; Segment Highlights Sanswire Networks' Stratellite Airship).

The corrected release reads:

GLOBETEL COMMUNICATIONS TO BE FEATURED ON DISCOVERY'S SCIENCE CHANNEL; SEGMENT HIGHLIGHTS SANSWIRE NETWORKS' STRATELLITE AIRSHIP

GlobeTel Communications Corp. (Amex: GTE) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary Sanswire Networks, LLC's High-Altitude Airship Platform, known as a Stratellite, will be featured on "Discoveries This Week" on The Science Channel, Friday, October 28, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Sanswire feature will also air numerous other times over the course of the weekend.

The Science Channel segment features Sanswire President, Bob Jones, showing the construction of the Stratellite prototype, "Sanswire One." The program originally aired April 25, 2005 on the Discovery Channel's Canadian broadcasts. Please visit The Science Channel website for the broadcast dates and times in your area. science.discovery.com

Timothy Huff, CEO of GlobeTel, commented: "The profile of our Stratellite technology was exceptionally well done. We are pleased that the Discovery Channel has produced a documentary that profiles the Stratellite and shows in more detail to its audience the uniqueness and the exceptional progress that we have made toward our development of a high-altitude airship." Mr. Huff continued, "The Stratellite was also covered in the media with segments appearing on Fox News, CNN, ABC, The New York Times, and others who have reported on our significant progress toward the developments that we have made recently."

About Sanswire Networks, LLC:

Sanswire Networks is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GlobeTel Communications Corporation whose shares are publicly traded on the American Stock Exchange under the symbol GTE.

A Stratellite(TM) is a high-altitude airship that when in place in the stratosphere (approximately 65,000 feet) will provide a stationary platform for transmitting various types of wireless communications services currently transmitted from cell towers and satellites. It is not a balloon or a blimp, but a high-altitude airship with a rigid structure.

The Stratellite is similar to a satellite in concept, but is stationed in the stratosphere rather than in orbit. Existing satellites provide easy "download" capabilities, but because of their high altitude are not practical for commercially viable "two-way," high-speed data communication. The Stratellite will allow subscribers to easily communicate in "both directions" using readily available wireless devices.

About the Discovery Channel:

Over the last 20 years, the Discovery Channel has been described as "one of television's most valued and trusted networks," and it approaches its twentieth anniversary as the most widely distributed television brand in the world, reaching 450 million homes in over 160 countries.

About GlobeTel Communications Corporation:

GlobeTel Communications Corporation is a diversified Telecommunications and Financial Services Company. GlobeTel Communications Corporation operates business units in Stored Value debit cards, as a certified MasterCard processor, the sale of Carrier-grade VOIP of Long Distance to major Long Distance re-sellers, VOIP Technology and development, and high-altitude airship research and development. These self-contained business units were developed to operate independently of each other. The symbiotic relationship, however, provides value to each of the other business units. This strategy offers GlobeTel financial diversity and risk mitigation while striving toward its operating objectives.

Operating on a global basis, GlobeTel has, historically, focused its business development on markets outside of the United States. Current operations and business relationships exist in Asia, Europe, South America, Mexico and the Caribbean.
