The reason Maurice Winn and myself are less excited about "peak oil" than you are, is due to experience.

Maurice previously worked for BP and I worked for Chevron.

Get on the speculative bubble of "peak oil" if you must, but be sure you hop off before the "peak oil" train slams into reality.

We began "peak oil" back in 1860 when oil could no longer be found at depths of less than 100 feet. Since then we've had to drill deeper and use crude with increasing amounts of sulfur. Oil production and use will continue to peak for another hundred years or more.

You'll find that the "peak oil" story sells better among those unfamiliar with the oil business.
