Unwinding my thoughts, on unwinding REFCO'S large multiple positions.

First I would unwind all long positions in which I had a profit. This would probably drive most commodity prices lower even without trades being made in some markets where I was short.

After the collapse caused, almost across the board, I would then cover my short positions.

I see this as possibly what could have been done, and yes, I am using hindsight , and still wondering if this makes any sense.

Is this why gold and silver went up today?
