A repost of my posting on IHUB:

Ref- I think Intel has a lot of growth in it

The stock market apparently does not share this perception, But I definitely think that there is more upside than the market thinking which is not looking past the present day PC market.

A. Intel dominates the market for chips in the PDA/ intelligent phone market. If this market segment takes off, it could mean very large volumes. The stock market has written off Intel's prospects in the cell phone market.

B. WiMax is on the verge of taking off within two years. It is not clear how much profit Intel might derive from the WiMax chips, but WiMax will definitely expand the total PC market.

C. The Media PC might take off given the leadership shown by Jobs in persuading content providers to allow Video content to be down loaded.

D. One day the world will run out of the excess fibre optic capacity installed during the dot com boom. Intel has new initiatives to standardize chips used in that market. If that works that could be big. Not clear when and if that will happen.

There is a pretty good chance that some of the above scenarios will indeed happen.
