Bill, Good observations. Syquest and Nomai have had a love-hate relationship for quite some time, and it was interesting to see Nomai back out of the Syquest offer after it appeared to be a done deal. It would be interesting to know if Nomai has ever had discussions with Iomega about being bought out.

I also agree with your comments regarding how patents and their legal defense are a normal part of doing business, especially in the high-tech arena.

Perhaps the most significant piece of news about the situation is the lack of market reaction. This would tend to reinforce the "this doesn't mean a thing" position many posters have.

I do believe however that there are quite a few investors out there who only know a piece of the story, and as this plays out, could still react negatively and push prices down.

The risk is currently still to the downside IMO.

Regards - Dale
