You are right. The Democrats are trying to strike a balance between pleasing the corporations and also caring about the people. That won't work. The corporations won't like them for not being totally on their side, and the people won't like them for their dalliances with the corporations (I have met so many people who don't vote because, according to them, "Both Republicans and Democrats are crooks").

What this country needs is a party that puts working families above everything else.
