What often gives is entire plants and manufacturing concerns. They are shut down inside the US while, in fact, the business is effectively moved offshore while still supplying the internal US market. Workers need raises in this economic environment or their purchasing power gets reduced. The good workers do often get their raises but at the expense of other workers getting laid off. It's a vicious inflationary cycle. On the flip side, it's a lot better than deflation, if and only if the Fed can produce a soft landing. If not, then we get a recession and possible deflation results. The remedy is a lot higher interest rates than anyone expects. Inflation doesn't bother me. I just charge much higher prices and get my fee. Moreover, since I'm long here, I like higher stock prices. I suppose if I really loved all people as much as I love my family, friends and myself, I'd care more.
