Wayne, To use my own experience, I had no idea who was who when I first started playing online poker. I started at Royal Vegas (Prima) just because they were giving a $40 bonus on a $40 deposit, which is as much as I was willing to deposit. I did well at Royal Vegas and earned my bonus, so I decided to look for another one. Empire popped up and I started playing there. When I later tried to get on Party, I couldn't do so. I had no idea that it was because I was already on Empire.
So, by the time I found out who was who in the online poker world, I was locked out of Party. And, it didn't matter that the players on Party were weaker, as the Party people sat down at the same tables with the Empire players, so there was no difference. That is no longer the case.
Some operations with skins do not lock you out. Cryptologic allows you to play at any of their casinos. As does Prima. Ultimate Bet/Poker Share is exclusive. I'm not certain about PokerRoom/Hollywood. I was able to open accounts with both, but I could not get the downloaded version of Hollywood, only the much poorer online version.
Full Tilt is a kick, though sometimes they tick me off. I entered an Omaha High Low tournament last night and one icon was colored differently than all the others. Then there was a little note: "why is he in red? Because he won a World Series of Poker bracelet in Omaha High Low." Well, get him the heck out of here. I don't want to play world champions in their game. <G> |
