RtS, I looked at both your references, Office Depot and Best Buy.

officedepot.com.

bestbuy.com

The laptop I wanted to buy was on both lists, the Satellite L25-S119. Office Depot, in the ad, does not say anything about being "sold out", but Best Buy does say they are "sold out".

So what we have here is Office Depot backlogged on orders for 270 machines, with no commitment from Toshiba as to when they can deliver, and Best Buy who admits to being sold out. How many laptops does Best Buy have on order with Toshiba? We don't know the answer to that question of course, but whatever the number it adds to the 270 that Office Depot has on order. How about all the other "discount" stores out there - are they sold out too and have more laptops on order? We don't know the answer to that either, but I suspect that when it is all added up, there could be well over 1000 of these laptops backlogged.

Leaping back to INTC and TXN again - both of these companies have now admitted to not being able to deliver product during the upcoming quarter to the point where it is affecting their stock price. As noted today, TXN is down on the order of 5 percent and INTC has been on a downward slide for the past several weeks.

Sort of a ridiculous situation IMO.
