"You got CHY? "

I took my lumps after their last news release and sold CHY.V for GAS.V. GAS barely budged during this recent correction. A good sign.

Seems like I am thinking like this dude for better or for worse:

From Pescod tonight....

This past weekend, Brendan Kyne of Leeward Funds was featured in the National Post and you could kind of tell from the interview that he was a little critical of those who might have been cashing in their energy stocks recently. When we talked with him today, we found out that “critical” would be a understatement. He suggests the headline on this whole idea should be not to listen to the “merchants of panic in the media that have been shouting it’s time to exit the energy sector and get into Google.” There has been a significant “owie” in the energy sector in the last couple of weeks, but Kyne points out one factor that suddenly has a positive effect on energy stocks....it’s getting cold in Toronto. Just in case you ever thought these kind of things were determined in Calgary, when it gets below freezing at night in Toronto and people suddenly hear their furnaces clicking on, the real world is hitting home. As far as the energy sector and his funds, he suggests they have not sold and have added to positions in the energy sector. He suggests that as the snow flies, energy stocks will continue to do well. He points out to third quarter earnings numbers that should be coming out over the next few days and weeks and suggests many of them should be “barn-burners.” He also points to the price of natural gas which hit $14.00 U.S. an mcf today and suggests that with all the rigs down in the Gulf of Mexico, many of which will be down for a long time yet, he says gas is the one commodity that could really get scary. He adds inventories could drop a lot quicker than people expect with those rigs out in the Gulf. Western Lakota www.westernlakota.com
