this yahoo poster got it right: the only realistic short term chance for a move north is a major partner.

How does covad differentiate their product?Price alone wont do it and
telecom for any business is a mission critical function.If they havent
the right model then it doesnt sell...believe it or not the best
salesman in the world cannot sell a product that isnt differentiated
somehow. All a competitor has to say to a customer is to look at
Covads financials...
In my opinion the b2b space is treading water(but keeps them
afloat).Until they get a partner who will use the network the pps will
languish.
Right now the partners like aol,elnk,msft(???) and assorted clecs are
themselves in disarray...but I think that will be short
lived..ultimatley they will get in to voa,voip and wireless and covad
will be the provider.
Thats what these aquisitions are all about. When Covad went to 6+ it
was on the ATT deal that said they would be loading millions in to the
network.If AOL et al decide to go the stock will again soar not
incrementally but straight up.That is the play, this stock is worth
1.00 as a stand alone.Its worth 12-15 with the right partners.That
change in pps will happen almost overnight and most everyone knows that.
Its when elnk msft and most of all aol are ready to roll it out
nationally. This is like a biotech research stock.But in this case I
give it a better than 50 50 chance of getting to 12 before 07.What
month it happens you would be better off watching AOL or ELNK or MSFT
than Covad.
