$150 vs. $300 million....
The articles that mention the $300 million price tag talk about a campus of nine buildings, with space for up to 4,000 employees. The articles that mention a $150 million price tag talk about a campus of five buildings, with space for the present 1,000 employees and maybe some growth. Perhaps the $150 million is the first phase, and the second phase will be undertaken after 2000 if there is need.
BTW, one of my clients is looking very closely at the IntranetWare vs. NT issue for a company-wide upgrade. They presently have 200 servers in 120 locations with 8,000 users mostly running NetWare 3.x, and are being VERY heavily courted by Microsoft. They are now leaning heavily towards an all-Novell solution, because of lower software cost, lower hardware costs, easier upgrades (especially with the SimmWare deal), and much, much lower administration costs down the road because of NDS.
Initially, it seemed like they were going to go with NT, but as NT 5.0 keeps getting delayed, more security bugs get found in NT 4.0, and horror stories about NT migrations getting out of hand keep spreading, Novell's story keeps looking better and better.
