If he's interviewing La Femme Plame's neighbors at this late date, of course he's seeking an extension. Running around like a chicken with its head cut off because his ducks aren't in a row--pardon the avian mixing of metaphors. Either that, or he's finishing up, tying down a few loose ends, which I doubt given his reputation for extreme thoroughness.

This development suggests that he finally is focused on the ultimate isue, i.e,. whether she was known as a CIA undercover operative in the first place.

I assume he's done the chronological bit.

Gawd, what a dumbass case. Unlikely to survive motions to dismiss if indictments are handed down.
