Iran's threats are disturbing, and seemingly very stupid, but the country being threatened is Israel, not the United States.

Israel has somewhere between 200 and 400 nukes of it's own and the largest, best equipped military in the region, and is hardly a passive victim country. As far as I'm aware, we have no mutual defense treaty with Israel.

Why shouldn't we just let Israel deal with this threat against them on their own? Help them with satellite intel, maybe - they've probably got their own. I have every confidence that they could glass over Iran if they REALLY felt threatened without our getting involved. After all, Iran only threatens to develop nuclear weapons, Israel already HAS a larger supply than Great Britain. So, at this point, Iran is ALL talk, and really stupid talk at that.

Israel isn't the 51st state. Really!
