Thanks Clapper! I just has my electric restored........stood in line at the red cross for food today (sorta to see what you would get) very interesting......I got a bag with 28 saltine crackers, 2 small bags of bar b q chips, 4 Grandma cookies, 2 Granola Bars, and 16 oz. bottle of water.
I knew the storm was coming and had all the supplies I needed but with no TV, No AC, husband out of town a couple of the gals and I decided to pull this stand in lines gig. Did strike it rich at the first line, receiving a large bag of ice. Actually I needed the ice.....to keep my supplies cool.
Anyway the storm hit this area very hard......not a lot of structural damage but it really beat up all of the beautiful trees and landscaping. They said there was not even 1 block in the whole county that did not have some sorta damage.
Really thankful, (nothing like New Orleans and Mississippi coast) things could have been so much worse.......it was really the first real Hurricane I have been through. Even the water in the toilet bowl was shaking.......and I was home alone......in the bathroom with book, radio, chair for some period of time.......
We were on the southern part of the eye wall and it was very scary. Will probably leave if they predict a 3 again
Like I said, I am fine, my apartment is fine, most of the folks in this complex were not quite so lucky.
Thanks again for asking....
Take care, dealie |
