I was impressed with Cramer's analysis of the auto industry on his show today. It was to the point, and spot on.

There are two very good auto companies: Toyota and Honda

GM and Ford are not in the same category. They are not even really auto companies. They are health care companies that's real reason for existence is to provide health care and pension benefits for their current employees and retirees.
They make no money on selling automobiles in the US market, unlike Toyota and Honda.

They are losing market share.

Toyota and Honda both make money - lots of money selling cars.
GM loses money. Ford makes money - but only because of it's financing - not selling cars. GM can't even do that.

They are in a pitiful state.
