Nope. See FOG OF WAR. No Soviet or Red China connection whatsoever until the US occupied Vietnam, then only in self defense. The Vietnamese hated the Soviets and Chinese. The fought a war with China after we left. Just as Saddam hated Al Qaida. Similar blunder. Extreme consequences costing the USA greatly.
