Some people trace the neocon's origin all the way back to the communist, Leon Trotsky. en.wikipedia.org en.wikipedia.org antiwar.com amconmag.com It makes sense if you think of the neocons as a group like the Nazis, that took over the National Socialist party to seize power in Germany, although they were in no way socialists. The neocons hijacked the Republican party, although they are only in two ways for traditional Republican principles - a huge military and low taxes. The party was just a necessity in their path to power.
