it will probably mirror the 61 page Broadcom complaint filed earlier by Broadcom in the US District Court (New Jersey):

I'm sure you've read it. Do you think Qualcomm has "monopoly power in 3G markets"? That's the keystone argument from Broadcom.

If so, then apparently the MSM6xxx delays must be some form of opaque strategy, I suppose. The whole fabless structure too, not to mention the dependence on component manufacturers as some sort of mechanism to develop phony shortages to gouge and manipulate everything in the CDMA market for years.

"Qualcomm's CDMA monopolies are not the result of superior business acumen or simple good fortune. Rather, Qualcomm's durable monopoly position in the CDMA markets has resulted from a continuing course of exclusionary, anticompetitive conduct".

Nowhere do they use the E[ngineering] word. And those assertions follow the list (TI, Intel, Samsung et al) of CDMA chipset competitors who found the work "unprofitable".

Good grief, if Qualcomm is overcharging via bogus shortages, then the turf is wide open for competition... unless Qualcomm has the whole industry buffaloed, which becomes a circular argument.... they are obviously anticompetitive because the competitors are not profitable. I like Ed Snyder's comment ( or whoever it was) about the courts not being a substitute for engineering.

What a f****d up industry!
(And besides, all this rigamarole is stalling my trip to Home Depot for screws.)
