Yeah well I'm still a citizen of one of those "friends". Blair railroaded the whole Iraq thing through without the support of the public. There has not been any time since this started that a majority of British public opinion was not against the war, and it is now overwhelmingly so.

Friendliest thing to have done would be non-participation in the insanity.

Blair has kept his job despite Iraq... because he is the most charismatic politician in Britain since Churchill, because domestically he has ridden the dead center of the road in policies, and because he has been lucky enough to preside over good economic times.
