"He is a liar extraordinaire, and a man with few if any scruples."

The sad part is we knew this about both him and Dubya before the 2000 election. Yet, somehow, they got the image of being honest, straight shooters.

But did we know.....we meaning the American public. Certainly a few of us knew.

Strangely enough, I figured it out when Bush and Cheney thought the mike was off at a campaign stop and started swearing about some reporter. It wasn't the swearing that bothered me.....afterall, I swear.....but it was the whole thing. I've worked with a politician who could swear a blue streak when he had a mind to do so.......but he never ever swore in public whether he thought a mike was on or off. There are some things you just don't do when you are a politician. So then, when Bush and Cheney were caught swearing, I got this odd feeling and just knew these people were suspect. For a few seconds, their masks had been dropped and you got to see them for whom they really were. I wasn't sure what I was seeing but I knew it wasn't pretty.

Which begs the question........why did Texans vote for Bush twice? You understand that gave him a credibility that Americans wanted to see because they were pissed about Clinton and his BJ, and wanted to hurt the party that supported him. Why did Texas re elect an incompetent? TX is a big state; there had to have been other choices. I am not trying to apply blame but rather trying to understand how we got into this mess.
