Just watched Judge Alito on TV while he accepted Bush's nomination. My first impression is that he is a serious judge. Possibly conservative but not a die hard one. Possibly on the lines of O'Connor. I believe he ruled that women thinking of an abortion should seek the father-to-be's consent. Now I can live with that since it does not involve the State. That child does have a father who should promise to support the child and the mother who bears it. Now if the father takes off then I would say the choice becomes purely hers and if she decides to have the baby then she can sue the father for support.
