The Pumpkin Eating Moose
by Rose

One Saturday, we woke up at 1:30 AM to the dog barking and the steady, annoying sound of thu-bump. thu-bump. thu-bump. What was that? We looked out the window and there, on our porch, was a moose! It was rolling our pumpkins down the steps, smashing them and eating them!

Then two more moose came into our yard. They started to eat the pumpkins too, but the first moose chased them off. They walked up the driveway to the cornstalks we had up by the road and started eating them.

Well, it seemed that the first moose wanted our yard to its self. It ran up the driveway and chased them away from that, too.

We went back to sleep, and when we woke up five hours later, the moose was still there! In fact, it didn’t leave until almost 10 AM! When it finally left, we went out to see what had happened. Everything was gone! Obviously, that moose would not be hungry for a while.
