For reasons that are best unclear, there is a large percentage of the population that takes what politicians say at face value. And it takes a lot of evidence to show them different. The neocons and their ilk have re-discovered that if you are bold enough, no one will question you for a while.

Its true. In spite of knowing what they were doing, I still believed that their moves were more misguided because of their ideology rather because they were mercenary. When people said Bush was invading Iraq for the oil, I thought no......they are doing it because they think it will turn the ME around. That observation was so wrong. These people took over the gov't for one thing and one thing only..........to make themselves and their friends very rich. And we served the country over to them on a silver platter. People wonder how the rich get richer......look no further.
