What's better for Scooter? Make a deal? Be viewed as a traitor by his fellow wingnuts. No patronage jobs with Republican supporters later. Do a little time (maybe), Take a pardon? Be viewed as a hero by the wingnuts. The next Oliver North. Get a great patronage job as a guy that is loyal and "holds his mud". Fitzgerald has little leverage as long as a pardon is waiting for Libby.
