NPs and others praying for RAIN! Just to stir up a little conversation, I have been thinking about the general dislike of the options grants and subsequent (albeit even a long time later) selling of shares by execs here. As I understand, for a while many of these people were not getting paid much and option grants are a form of legitimate compensation. I too share the dislike of seeing any insider selling but on the other hand, when do we want these sales to occur?

This is where any accounting-savvy people can chime in, but with the EPS taking into account option dilution then is it a wash between granting options with subsequent share sales or paying actual salaries that count as operating expenses (and reducing NOI anyway)?

I don't think we can have it both ways--low paid execs with no option share sales. Other thoughts welcome.
