Perhaps I am picking nits, but one cannot say that making this legal status change will eliminate that problem. Legalizing prostitution and instituting a $100 excise tax on tricks would not eliminate $25 drive by blow jobs.

To reiterate, I am not willing to say that ending the prohibition on marijuana is impossible or that it must never happen. I am not willing to support it at this time. Those that know me, know I am not easy to convince, but am not set in stone either.

Important issues like are illegal drugs causing the race and class dispirit incarceration gap? Are criminals from these groups caught in drug arrests because the drug arrests are easier than the arrests for other crimes these same people commit? Are criminals from these groups caught in drug arrests because drugs are an easy way for criminals to make an income? Would legalizing drugs just push these people into other avenues and make other societal exchanges more dangerous?
